THE FREEWILL CHICK THOUGHT SHE WOULD “ONE-UP” ME BY ASKING:

Do you know what “Christ” means?

MY REPLY:
Since you brought up the topic, I should point out to you that Paul is the only one in the bible who uses the term “Christ Jesus“… And this is important.

I keep hoping you’ll see that Paul is our apostle. But you keep jumping back and forth between the evangel of the circumcision and that of the uncircumcision.

Paul was the only one to see Christ in His glorified state. Peter, James and John did not.

THIS IS IMPORTANT. Peter, James and John knew him as Jesus. And yes, they saw his wounded hands and feet after the resurrection. But they did not see THE GLORIFIED CHRIST. Only Paul did. And Paul did not deserved such an honor.

You see, God’s revelation and salvation and creative work does not happen all at once. God keeps some things secret to be revealed later. .

There is a difference between Jesus Christ and Christ Jesus.

You likely won’t be bothered with it, as you’re all about works.

POST SCRIPT NOTES:

I can’t help but feel that the honored term “Christ” has much to do with Romans 4:25.

“He was given up because of our offenses, and was roused because of our justifying.”

You see, when He died, and was entombed — God was moved. So moved that He justified everyone… and honored “Christ” with a name above every name— the name (title?) “Christ”. Then raised Him from the dead.

FROM PHILIPPIANS CHAPTER TWO:

9 “Wherefore, also, God highly exalts Him, and graces Him with the name that is above every name,
10 that in the name of Jesus every knee should be bowing, celestial and terrestrial and subterranean,
11 and every tongue should be acclaiming that Jesus Christ is Lord, for the glory of God, the Father.
